We are super happy to announce that Heritage Education Network Belize has received a grant to be part of the Republic of China (Taiwan) Economic Empowerment Project to enhance the economic empowerment of women in Latin America and the Caribbean in the COVID-19 Post-Pandemic era!

The funds were made possible through “Enhancing the Economic Empowerment of Women in Latin America and the Caribbean in the COVID-19 Post-Pandemic Era: Technical Assistance for Women Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Financial Inclusion” project by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration and the Republic of China (Taiwan).

The award ceremony was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Leigh Richardson building in Belmopan, Belize early December 2021. Taiwan’s Ambassador to Belize H.E. David Kuan-Chou Chien presented multiple awards, including to HENB.

What does this mean?

Heritage Education Network Belize will conduct a free 2-week virtual training in January 2022 on culture, marketing, and digital literacy for women’s groups, cooperatives, and MSMEs in the cultural and creative industries.

The importance of this training lies in ensuring personal development and the safeguarding of culture and heritage through businesses that build on traditional techniques.

As a female-founded NGO, we are super grateful for this opportunity and hope to bring useful knowledge to the communities and people we support!
