UNWTO releases the AlUla Framework for Inclusive Community Development through Tourism

The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the G20 Tourism Working Group have developed the AlUla Framework for Inclusive Community Development through Tourism.

The aim of the framework is to provide guidance and inspiration to all governments as well as all other key stakeholders in the tourism sector to foster a truly holistic and integrated approach to inclusive community development through tourism.

Placing inclusive community development at the heart of tourism policies through education, investment, innovation and technology can transform the livelihoods of many millions, while also preserving our environment and our culture and drive a more inclusive and sustainable recovery of tourism.

The publication shares an analysis of current economic and social challenges in tourism due to COVID-19 and identifies pillars of action to recover tourism while encouraging inclusive community development.
